Senior Deliveries

Our Neighbourhood Pop-Up Fresh Market helps increase access to healthy food items for seniors.

Our monthly Pop-Up Fresh Market provides perishable and non-perishable food items to seniors in the neighbourhood and serves as a place to connect over coffee, tea and snacks.

The Fresh Market program helps to enhance equitable access to healthy food, combats social isolation and plays a collaborative role in in assisting our neighbours to live independently longer.

Senior Deliveries

Available Monthly

Through the generosity of various donors, we were able to partner with Ottawa Community Housing (OCH) to offer monthly Care Box deliveries of dry goods, fresh produce, milk, eggs, and bread to five seniors' residences in our local community. As we know, folks over the age of 65 are particularly vulnerable to the impacts of COVID-19. This service was developed out of the voiced need of our neighbours for safe access to food.

What to Expect

Volunteer teams prepare and deliver Care Boxes filled with perishable and non-perishable food items. Referrals are made to this program through Aging in Place workers onsite at various Ottawa Community Housing residences. This initiative began during the COVID-19 pandemic and continues to serve as part of a collaborative effort to increase access to healthy food and to reduce social isolation amongst vulnerable seniors in our community. Follow up calls and referrals are provided as needed and social events are held onsite throughout the year.
